On Sunday July 18, 2012, TRF will again host its annual Stay Afloat Safety Fair. Bring the kids down to the river in Wingfield Park to learn about safe river recreation.

Back by popular demand, we will have parent participation classes for the youngsters, on-the-water training to identify hazards and safely navigate through whitewater currents and an advanced class for kids who have successfully completed the basic river safety class.

As we have every year, TRF will provide free life jackets, helmets and water shoes for all participants on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Thanks to everyone who has helped to ensure that this successful event continues to provide kids in the Truckee Meadows with river safety education: the Leonette Foundation, McDonald Carano Wilson LLP, Nevada Department of Wildlife Boater Safety Program, Olsen & Associates, the City of Reno, Model Dairy and Redwood Creek Winery. More details to come. See you there!
